Troy was born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia where he learned to hunt, fish and respect and appreciate the outdoors. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army (1983-1991) where he was an Airborne Ranger, Senior Gunner, and instructor on the Chaparral Missile Systems. He is a family man and loves helping others. He has fished over 50 years and in 2009 he obtained his U.S. Coast Guard OUPV Captains license and began guiding inshore fishing trips and wildlife tours which he still does part-time. He is a proud member of the NRA and equally proud of his works with local children's cancer charities.
